Sandhivata Nivaran Chikitsa (Arthritis & Joint Pain Relief )
Sandhivata Nivaran Chikitsa is a dedicated Ayurvedic therapy program for chronic joint pain, stiffness, and Sandhivata (arthritis)
About This Chikitsa (Treatments)
Sandhivata Nivaran Chikitsa is a dedicated Ayurvedic therapy program for chronic joint pain, stiffness, and Sandhivata (arthritis) — addressing aggravated Vata dosha at its root through Panchakarma, medicated oils, and generational herbal formulations rather than temporary pain relief.
Understanding Sandhivata
Ayurveda identifies Sandhivata as a Vata-dominant disorder, where diminished Sleshaka Kapha (joint lubrication) and aggravated Vata lead to dryness (Rukshata), reduced mobility, and pain in the Sandhi (joints) — closely resembling osteoarthritis in modern terms.
Our Chikitsa Protocol
- Snehana: External Abhyanga with medicated Taila to nourish joint tissue and reduce Vata.
- Swedana: Localized sudation therapies such as Nadi Sweda and Patra Pinda Sweda to relieve stiffness.
- Basti Chikitsa: Considered the supreme therapy for Vata disorders in classical texts, medicated enemas are used to pacify deep-seated Vata.
- Rasayana: Post-therapy rejuvenation formulations to strengthen joint tissue (Asthi and Majja Dhatu) long-term.
Herbs Traditionally Used
Our family formulations draw on classical Vata-pacifying and joint-nourishing herbs such as Rasna, Nirgundi, Guggulu, and Ashwagandha, prepared using our lineage’s Shodhana and Bhavana methods.
Pathya-Apathya
Warm, unctuous, and easily digestible food is favoured; cold, dry, and Vata-aggravating foods (excess raw salads, refrigerated food) are avoided. Gentle joint movement, oil massage, and protection from cold, windy weather are advised.
Why Choose Guruji Govind
Guruji’s diagnostic methods, inherited from Rishi tradition, assess the exact stage and cause of joint degeneration in each patient — enabling a truly personalized Sandhivata protocol rather than a generic arthritis package.
